Unwavering Vigilance Ensures Foreign Medical Graduate Examination Integrity
The Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) June 2024 session, a pivotal assessment for aspiring medical professionals, is currently underway at 71 meticulously chosen centers across 21 states in India. Robust Security Measures Deployed
To safeguard the integrity and fairness of the FMGE, the central government, in collaboration with various ministries including Health, Education, and Home Affairs, has implemented a multi-layered security apparatus. A dedicated command center has been established at the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) headquarters, where a team of vigilant officials, including Governing Body members, senior NBEMS officers, technical experts from TCS, and representatives from the Ministry of Home Affairs, are continuously monitoring the examination’s progress.
Technological Oversight and On-Ground Vigilance
Leveraging cutting-edge technology, each examination center is under constant surveillance through a live CCTV feed, providing real-time insights into the conduct of the examination. Additionally, a ground team of TCS officials has been deployed to address any operational or logistical challenges that may arise at the test centers. A flying squad consisting of 53 faculty members, along with 71 members nominated by the Director General of Health Services and 42 NBEMS staff members, have been strategically placed to ensure the smooth execution of the examination and to promptly respond to any unforeseen circumstances.
Examination Progress and Future Outlook
With a total of 35,819 candidates registered to take the FMGE, the examination commenced smoothly across all centers, with the content successfully downloaded and no untoward incidents reported. In the wake of this successful implementation of stringent security measures, the NEET-PG exams, which were previously postponed due to security concerns, are now rescheduled for August 11, 2024, in two shifts, further solidifying the government’s commitment to ensuring the sanctity of these critical examinations.
