I’ve spent a week with the Honor Magic V3 Plus, and I’m blown away. Here’s my in-depth, personal experience-driven review:

Design & Build:

The Magic V3 Plus is a design marvel. It’s remarkably thin and light, even when folded, easily slipping into my pocket. Unfolded, it feels like a premium tablet. The vegan leather back is not only eco-conscious but also adds a touch of sophistication. The hinge is robust and opens smoothly with just the right amount of resistance. This phone is simply beautiful to look at and hold.

Display:

Prepare to be mesmerized. The 6.43-inch outer display is crisp and vibrant, perfect for everyday use. Unfold it, and you’re greeted by a glorious 7.92-inch OLED panel that’s ideal for multimedia, multitasking, and productivity. The colors are stunning, the blacks are deep, and the brightness is more than sufficient for outdoor use. The 120Hz refresh rate on both screens makes everything feel incredibly smooth. And yes, HDR10+ support ensures your movies and shows look their best.

Performance:

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, coupled with up to 16GB of RAM, delivers exceptional performance. I threw everything at it, from demanding games to intensive multitasking, and the Magic V3 Plus handled it all without breaking a sweat. Apps open instantly, switching between them is seamless, and there’s no lag whatsoever. This phone is a true powerhouse.

Camera:

The triple rear camera system is outstanding. The 50MP main sensor captures incredibly detailed and vibrant photos, even in challenging lighting conditions. The 50MP ultrawide lens is perfect for landscapes and group shots, while the 20MP periscope telephoto lens offers impressive zoom capabilities without sacrificing image quality. Low-light performance is also exceptional, thanks to Honor’s advanced image processing algorithms.

Battery Life:

The 5150mAh battery consistently lasted me a full day, even with heavy use. I could easily get through a workday of emails, social media, web browsing, and video calls without worrying about running out of juice. The 66W wired charging is incredibly fast, topping up the battery in no time, and the 50W wireless charging is a convenient bonus.

Software & User Experience:

MagicOS 7.2, based on Android 13, is a joy to use. It’s smooth, intuitive, and packed with features that take full advantage of the foldable form factor. Multitasking is effortless with the split-screen mode, and apps scale seamlessly between the two displays. Honor has also included some useful features like a floating window for quick access to apps and a one-handed mode for the outer display.

Connectivity & Additional Features:

The Magic V3 Plus supports 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, and NFC. The side-mounted fingerprint sensor is fast and accurate, and face unlock works well too. However, I was disappointed to find that there’s no headphone jack or expandable storage.

Buying Recommendation:

Who’s it for? The Honor Magic V3 Plus is for those who want the absolute best in foldable technology. It’s perfect for power users, multitaskers, and anyone who appreciates a premium, cutting-edge device.

Pros:

  • Incredibly thin and light design
  • Stunning dual displays
  • Top-of-the-line performance
  • Exceptional camera system
  • Blazing-fast charging

Cons:

  • No headphone jack
  • No expandable storage
  • High price

Overall: The Honor Magic V3 Plus is a masterpiece of engineering and design. It’s the most polished and refined foldable phone I’ve ever used, offering a glimpse into the future of mobile technology. If you’re willing to invest in the future of smartphones, the Magic V3 Plus is an absolute must-have.
